Assessor Workshops
Level 3 Certificate/Awards in Assessing Vocational Achievement
These workshops are aimed at those individuals looking to become assessors.
We offer all 3 units and you can attend the individual workshops in any combination. The one-day workshops are held at venues around the country.
Unit 1: Understanding the Principles & Practices of Assessment
Unit 2: Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
Unit 3: Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge & Understanding
Working towards certification, you will be required to submit a range of evidence, which will be formatively and summatively assessed to meet the assessment criteria. The range of evidence which will need to be produced will include personal statements, observations, professional discussion and written evidence.
Guidance for potential candidates on the Assessor training course
The Assessor Unit 1 and IQA Unit 4 are known as ‘knowledge units’ and are relevant to those new to Assessor and IQA practice, people intending to become an assessor, or managers and their teams who wish to gain an understanding of the QCF framework and how assessment and quality assurance are reflected using the QCF against the National Occupational Standards (NOS).
Whereas, the Assessor Units 2 & 3 and IQA Units 4 & 5 are competence based units which require work-based evidence for achievement, part of which will require observation. For more information relating to the requirements, please click here.
