Introduction to Public Sector Procurement - 1 Day Training Course


'Essentials of Public Sector Procurement - Comprehensive Introduction’ is for staff who have relatively limited previous experience of public procurement, or are looking for an up to date overview of the process. The one day course provides an overview of the aims and objectives of public sector procurement, and the key legislation and processes as of 2014 onwards.

This workshop will be especially appropriate for those becoming responsible for commissioning projects attracting public funds from the UK or European sources Information, exercises and group work enable delegates to explore bid writing using supportive and accessible learning strategies.

The facilitator for this course brings a diverse and significant range of skills, knowledge and abilities to the training programme.

Originally a Physicist he worked for Chemicals Industry blue chip, ICI, for 10 years in a variety of roles before becoming Global Engineering Contracts Manager establishing and running a range of international supply agreements.

Since 1998 he has been working as consultant and trainer specialising in procurement and supply chain management.  Internationally he conducts a range of commercial skills courses for Middle Eastern clients.  In the UK he works for both the private and public sectors, advising on both bidding and procurement.

He has worked for a wide range of public sector bodies, including cluster groups, quangos, local authorities and Regional Development Agencies.  Projects have included Supply Chain development, evaluation of ERDF projects, running tendering processes and organising Meet the Buyer events.
