How to Gain Funding, Grants and Loans for a Social Enterprise (WS5616)
Thursday, 29th November 2012, London Euston
Social Enterprises are becoming increasingly important in the delivery of public services; they are also beginning to expand in terms of contract delivery and partnership development. The coalition government are encouraging a more wide ranging role for social enterprise in the delivery of public services at local, regional and national level. The ‘Big Society’ initiative and the ‘New Localism’ agenda both present new and exciting opportunities for social enterprises and social enterprise partnerships.
This one day workshop will review the development of Social Enterprises and the funding, grants and loans that they can access.
The workshop will examine some of the more common funds – social investment, charitable trusts, central, regional and local government and European funding and provide guidance on the routes to access and how these funds can be utilised by your organisation.
The aim of the workshop is to update delegates on key issues in social enterprise development, review a selection of the different types of public and charitable funds available to organisations engaged in social enterprise activities and identify development and funding opportunities for existing and new social enterprise organisations.
Through presentations and group discussion, the facilitator will illustrate how public and charitable funds are managed and distributed; which funds are typically accessed and for what purpose and review the future objectives of the main funders, including many new and existing funding streams.
The workshop will cover:
The key differences of funding streams and how external funding can support the work of a social enterprise:
"A wonderful selection of ways to support future working and funding applications"
"Excellent in depth introduction to opportunities"
"Very informative and packed with detail"
"An excellent window on the many funding opportunities available for SE's, all in one place"
"Excellent detailed tour of relevant grants and funding opportunities. Very useful and tailored to activities of delegates - would recommend"
