Management Systems & Record Keeping for ESF Projects (WS5465)Thursday, 12th July 2012, Birmingham City Centre OverviewThis one-day workshop is aimed at all organisations that either manage or deliver projects funded through the European Social Funds (ESF). The content will provide support to direct applicants who maintain total responsibility for all aspects of project management as well as project sub-contractors, including those through Co-financing. ContentWithout doubt, the management of European funded projects brings with it a significant burden of bureaucracy and administration overload. For many applicants the advantages available throughESF funding areoutweighed when the Funds then require the recording and evidencing of practically “everything that moves” within a project. ESF co-financing provides opportunities for simplification but the basis of record-keeping stays the same. The better prepared an applicant is at the start of delivery, the less onerous and risky the project. ESF funds are distributed through 'Co-financing Organisations' (CFOs). CFOs are public bodies which bring together ESF and domestic funding for employment and skills so that ESF complements national programmes. The Skills Funding Agency, the Department for Work and Pensions Delivery Directorate and the National Offender Management Service are CFOs across the whole of England. A few Regional Development Agencies and local authorities are also CFOs. This workshop will also be suitable for staff with monitoring responsibilities and those involved in providing support to applicants and other end users. The workshop will cover:
