Prior to founding Stefan Drew Associates Stefan’s had been both Director of Marketing and Director of Enterprise at leading colleges. He now works with SSCs, providers and businesses in the UK and overseas.
Outside of the sector he was Head of Press, Publicity and Marketing at a large government agency where he led a large marketing and communications team and managed a £multi million marketing budget.
Working with huge budgets convinced Stefan that much of the marketing spend in organisations was wasted and that the majority of marketing carried out was ineffective and failed to produce a measurable return on investment (ROI).
Stefan’s response was to develop marketing and sales strategies that reduce costs; saves staff time and money by automating many marketing functions; tests, measures and improves the sales and marketing channels and, finally, engages with prospects and customers far more effectively.
In recognition of the effectiveness of his strategies Stefan is regularly introduced by the BBC as The Marketing Magician. His BBC interviews have been heard in over 50 countries. Stefan also writes regular columns for a number of magazines and websites that are read on several continents.
A strong advocate of the hundreds of free sales and marketing channels available to both providers and businesses, Stefan recommends radio interviews and PR as amongst the dozen most effective free marketing strategies as they reach literally tens of thousands of people at no cost.
