GRID Consulting Limited
The idea for GRID came from consultancy work delivered as part of the World Class Skills programme. This consultancy required information to develop and improve Employer Responsive provision, which mainstream FE systems failed to provide but was freely available through LIS and the Data Service PFR/OCC.
GRID’s initial focus was on a tool to accurately and reliably forecast ER funding – “GRID Profile”.
GRID Profile was developed in 2010 with a number of providers who all now use the tool on a commercial basis. GRID Profile has generated a significant financial payback for all its users from improved planning and tighter management of their ILR data.
Originally developed for ER provision, GRID Profile is now used as a single solution for profiling and managing Adult Skills. It is ready to profile Classroom provision using the “simplified” rules that come into effect in 2013.
GRID Profile is a Microsoft Excel workbook that allows users to accurately profile funding for roll on roll off provision. Actual funding earned is updated from LIS and this data also provides course funding values for new starts. All key parameters that can influence funding outcomes are modelled giving a powerful “what if” capability.
Managing Sub Contract Provision
Users with Sub Contract provision deploy GRID Profile to manage and plan this aspect of their business.
GRID Profile can be used to profile and plan merged provision in the lead up to the formal merger date.
GRID Contribute uses LIS + GRID Profile + Activity Budgeting Principles to monitor and manage the resourcing and financial performance of roll on roll off provision..
GRID Strategy uses LI S + GRID Profile + Strategy Principles to provide information to support the strategic development of provision.
