fication and what it means for MI Managers in the Further Education and Skills sector

This one-day conference is taking place on 28 March at The Welcome Centre, Coventry.

Following the publication of the Skills Investment Statement for 2011-14 ' New Challenges, New Chances' by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the theme of the conference is "Simplification and what it means for MI Managers in the FE and Skills sector ". It will feature keynote speakers Sir Geoff Hall, Chair of the information authority, Geoff Daniels, Projects Director from the Young People's Learning Agency (YPLA); and Keith Smith, Director of Funding Policy from the Skills Funding Agency.

John Perks (Head of the information authority); Una Bennett (Head of the Learning Records Service); and Rich Williams (Head of the data service) will give their viewpoints on what the simplification of the funding system means for those working ‘in the field’ to produce the funding and monitoring data that colleges and training providers need to return.

A series of workshops will give providers the practical tools needed for 2013/14 – including case studies of recent successful collaborations between agencies and providers.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the Q&A Panel session which will include representation from the funding agencies.

*Please note: places are open to providers who are in receipt of funding from the YPLA and/or Skills Funding Agency but are limited to two places per provider.

Who should attend?

The conference is aimed at MI Managers in the FE and Skills sector in receipt of funding from the YPLA and/or the Skills Funding Agency.
