For Qualifications in the Wider WBL and FE sectors

13th September 2010 – Maple House, Birmingham

Speaker Profile - Sally Garbett

Sally is a freelance consultant with over twenty years’ experience of developing the skills and abilities of others. She was recently acting Policy Advisor for Lifelong Learning UK, managing the review of the Learning and Development (and assessor and verifier) standards and qualifications. She was chosen for this role because of her experience of the work based sector and her training and development of practitioners at a national level over the past 9 years. She is currently also involved with the Centres for Excellence for Teacher Training and IfL on areas around the PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS and teacher training reforms.

Sally is probably best known for her work with ENTO which began when she approached them in 2000 to contribute to the review of the “D units.” She then developed the first of what was to become a series of 20 ENTO national training events, writing and delivering these as well as managing the national team of trainers. Sally left ENTO in 2009.

Sally is qualified and licensed in the use of psychometrics and personality indicators and through these is actively involved in enabling managers, teams and individuals to realise their full potential through the identification of their preferences and strengths.

Sally’s development of others began whilst working in Management for Marks and Spencer and Next.  She was also the Operations Manager for a Management and Training Consultancy, delivering a wide variety of training and development solutions in both the public and private sector.
