Assessment of Learning Conference 2010

For Qualifications in the Wider WBL and FE sectors

13th September 2010 – Maple House, Birmingham

Conference Overview

A wide view of qualifications and approaches for assessors and assessment and their contribution to learning especially related to QCF qualifications and the new assessor and quality assurance awards and certificates.

All learning pathways in education and training rely on some form of assessment to measure progress, to ensure that learning is effective and achievement is recognised whilst maintaining the quality assurance of qualifications where relevant. The range of assessment activities can be very broad in both technique and context; these are reflected in the new Assessor and Quality Assurance units, awards and certificates.

This one-day conference will explore the assessment landscape from the fundamental skills through to designing assessment systems and criteria in different scenarios. We will cover the new assessor and quality awards and certificates and their possible application relating to other vocational qualifications beyond NVQs such as the QCF.
